The mum behind Little Leaps

LL

I am a mum of four — and between my children I have experienced the full range of what child development looks like. The textbook version, and the version that throws the textbook out the window.

My older three — a 9-year-old boy, a 6-year-old girl, and a 4-year-old girl — each followed their own rhythm through feeding, talking, walking, and everything in between. My youngest, a 2-year-old boy, has been one of my greatest teachers. He was born with a congenital heart condition and was later diagnosed with CHARGE syndrome following a genetic test.

He has navigated more in his two years than most of us face in a lifetime — and he has done it with the most enormous spirit. He attends occupational therapy several times a week and is currently in AVT therapy to help him hear and speak.

Doing the starting solids journey with him was different to anything I had experienced with my older three. Everything felt more delicate, more considered, more intentional. It taught me that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to any of this — and that every mum and every baby deserves a guide that meets them where they are.

That is what Little Leaps is built on.
